Day 3 of 35 – Make a List of Your Talents

Make a list of your talents – You’ll be amazed at yourself

For a lot of people, acknowledging the things they do well isn’t so easy. It’s a combination of modesty and, for some, not believing in themselves. We don’t always realize the things we do or what we are capable of. It is for that reason that making a list of what you are good at can be very helpful.

When you make your list, you must be completely honest about it. Don’t be too modest or too full of yourself. You don’t have to show it to anyone, so there is no reason for you to not be completely honest. Also, while a talent is technically something you are naturally good at, don’t overlook other things that you’ve worked hard to be good at. Those are every bit as important.

For the sake of this post, I’m going to put six things that are on my list:

  1. I’m good at working with computers
  2. I have the ability to get people to talk to me about their issues, though I have no idea how
  3. Though out of practice, I can play the piano
  4. As much as I try to deny it sometimes, I have a ton of compassion in me
  5. I can hear and feel the subtleties in music
  6. I’m able to find the good in just about anybody

When you feel down or feel like you can’t do anything right, go back to your list and remind yourself of the things you not only do, but do well. We all need a reminder sometimes.
