Writing from the Train, Computer Lab, and Home

I started this post as I was sitting on the South Shore Wednesday evening. I figured I’d write for a little bit as I rode the train.

Life in General…

Well there isn’t too much to actually talk about. life has been steadily improving as time has gone on. I actually did decently well grade wise with my classes form last quarter. I did better than I thought I would considering I’ve been overly distracted for two months. But I somehow made it through and succeeded. And now I’m here with a fresh quarter already begun and, with my mind coping infinitely better, I’m looking forward to it being successful too. If all goes well I can finally finish school in the middle of next year. There were a few interferences over the years, but now I’m finally well on my way. Better late than never!

One Fish, Two Fish…

You want to know what’s hard to do? Throwing a little ping pong ball into a tiny fishbowl to win a fish! I was with Jack and Nikki at a church festival (which was actually a lame festival unfortunately) and they had won some fish there a few years ago and wanted to play the game. Well, I tried a few times and I was horrible at this. Those two, however, managed to leave with three fish. Granted it means that they managed to get the ball into one of the bowls 3 times out of the 60 chances they had (well, minus the chances I took), but still, it’s something that I could not do. The ones I threw either bounced too much and ultimately away from the bowls or I somehow managed to get them in-between bowls and, thus, got nothing. Jack won one fish and Nikki won two.

BUNNIES!!!!

I just found this sticker interesting. It was just on one of the polls at the Hegewisch train station. To me the bunny looks like a slipper, which to me sends the wrong idea about their whole “Don’t wear fur or fur trim” thing.

Fun with Games!

Ahh, games. I’ve been playing some games lately to pass the time when I can. For a long while I wasn’t able to play anything really because of a weird mind block, but I’ve been able to again. Something I’ve been playing on my iPhone (btw, iPhone 4 is awesome! Yeah, yeah, I know about those antenna issues, but it hasn’t been a problem for me) is called Fruit Ninja! Basically a bunch of fruit comes on the screen and you have to slice them with your finger as they go by. You have to watch out, though, because bombs also come across the screen and if you hit one of those it’s game over! It’s a fun game to pass the time and I’d like to thank my friend Emily for making me play it. Working on my score, which is probably kind of low, but I’m sure I’ll keep trying.

Oh, and of course you have to play Angry Birds! That game is incredibly fun! Michelle got it for her iPad and told me I should play it too. I got it for the iPhone, though, since I have that with me more often than I do my iPad. But, seriously, if you have either of those things you should definitely get Angry Birds! I even got Nikki addicted to it (who in turn got her sister addicted now too, hehe).

Treats! Yum!

I’ve gotten myself addicted to M&Ms again. Oh boy. We all know that plain M&Ms are my favorite thing in the world, but I haven’t had them in a while. Well, ever since I was studying for Finals last quarter I’ve been having them all the time. Okay, not really. It just feels like it. They even keep me company during class.

M&M;’s and a Syllabus. What a combo!

I’ve also been craving ice cream way entirely too much! Not good when you’re trying to keep the weight you’ve lost off. But I’ve learned that the McFlurry is sooooo good! Darnit, Nikki for getting me into those things! Now I want one as I write this! The Oreo McFlurry is great, but obviously I’m all about the M&M; McFlurry! Too bad I have class for the next two and a half hours or I’d go get one.

I definitely went to get an M&M; McFlurry after class.

Speaking of class, oh wow it starts in ten minutes! I should probably get going. What room is it again? Maybe I should find that out while I’m at it.

View from the Computer Lab/Library

And now I am home and finishing this post!

Geeking Out!

So class was decent enough. I got to go back to the computer lab to write an introductory letter about myself. Not a fan of having to write about myself when it’s not on my own terms, but it was alright I guess.

The computer I was using and my assignment on the side.

I was pretty much the only one to head straight to a Mac. Everyone else who went to type out their letter went to the PCs. I was using a new 21 inch iMac. OMG I definitely want! Makes my poor MacBook feel really slow by comparison. It had a 3 Ghz processor with 8GB of RAM! I was totally geeking out using it. If I ever got an iMac I’d probably go with the 27 inch, but the 21 inch was still amazing. /geeking out

What Else?

That’s probably about it for this post I think. OH!

You can’t really tell from the picture, but this is  an 86 inch TV that’s hanging on one of the walls in a hallway at school. It’s freaking monstrous! Why the school needs this incredibly huge tv in a hallway is beyond me, but it’s there. I walk by it all the time just wondering what made them get it.

Okay, now that’s it!

PS – If you haven’t gone to see Inception yet, you need to seriously go, like, now!
